Adding a Yahoo Mailing Address to an Account

I had to add a Yahoo email address to a new iMac and iPad.  Using Add Account > Yahoo, then going through the steps of email address and password, kept getting a message “rejected”.  Had the woman open her phone and check her Yahoo email.  Sure enough their was a message from Yahoo that an unknown app tried to access account.  It gave some options.  One was using a web server and Yahoo.com, and the last was to accept the “insecure app that wants to access account”.  We checked that link, and Voila!  Checked her iPad and iMac and both Yahoo was verified on both!

I know that Yahoo and Apple do not get along very well, but that it ridiculous to call Apple Mail, or the iMac Mail server an insecure app!

We do not know if this applies to Android....
